Meet Courtney, Owner & Head Trainer
Courtney is a formally educated professional dog trainer with more than a decade of hands-on experience. She has worked with dogs across a wide range of breeds, temperaments, and behavioral needs - from everyday family companions to complex behavioral cases.
As owner and head trainer, Courtney leads the standards, methods, and development of the Bold City K9 team. Every dog receives individualized training built around who they are, what their family needs, and the real-life results they are working toward.

Training Comes Home With You
Every Board & Train program ends with a detailed one-to-two-hour go-home lesson. We walk you through your dog’s equipment, communication, daily structure, and each skill they learned so you understand what to do, when to use it, and why it works.
As you begin applying the training at home and in public, follow-up coaching helps strengthen the transition. Graduates can also join our regular training outings for practice around dogs, distractions, and new situations.
Lifetime coaching is included with every program, giving you continued access to refreshers, extra practice, and support with new challenges.
Because lasting results depend on more than what your dog learns with us. They depend on making sure you can use the training confidently in everyday life.

Dogs stay in a home-based environment with their trainer, where training is built into normal routines, household expectations, and everyday life. This gives them structure and consistency while helping the skills transfer more naturally when they return home.

The length of your dog’s stay depends on their individual needs, your goals, and the level of reliability we are working toward. Our training is performance-based, so we focus on progress and readiness rather than sending every dog home on a rigid timeline.
We will provide an expected timeframe when recommending a program and keep you updated throughout your dog’s stay. If additional time is needed to reach the goals established for their program, we will discuss that with you and prioritize sending your dog home when they are prepared for a successful transition—not simply because a date arrived.

Yes, we regularly work with dogs displaying reactivity, aggression, fear, and anxiety. Because these behaviors vary in cause and severity, we first learn more about the dog, their history, and what is happening at home before recommending the right program and setting realistic expectations.

That is a major part of the program. Your dog’s go-home lesson typically lasts one to two hours and covers equipment, communication, reinforcement, daily structure, and every skill your dog learned. Continued coaching is also included so you are not left figuring it out alone after pickup.
