Our trainers are formally educated, highly experienced, and selected for their ability to read each dog as an individual. They understand behavior, genetics, learning theory, and the practical demands of living with a dog in the real world.

We do not force every dog through the same system.
Training is shaped around temperament, maturity, breed, prior experience, family dynamics, and the role your dog will have in your life. Methods, tools, structure, and expectations are chosen deliberately, then adjusted as the dog develops.

Throughout the program, we pay close attention to comfort, health, routines, social needs, rest, play, and emotional wellbeing. Progress should never come at the expense of trust or quality of care.

COURTNEY BENTLEY
Courtney is a Professional Canine Trainer and Behavior Specialist, certified by Starmark Academy in Hutto, TX.
She began her formal education in canine learning theory and training in early 2013 and has since completed several certificate programs to further her education. Learning from leaders in canine education such as Starmark Academy, Penn Vet Working Dog Center, Michael Ellis’ School for Dog Trainers, and K9 Lifeline has played an integral part in the creation of her current programs. She, also, regularly attends courses and seminars by world renowned trainers to better her understanding and use of effective training methods for pets and high quality working dogs, and was previously operational as a TSA 3PK9 Certified Explosives Detection Canine Handler with K9 Jack.
Courtney has over 2500 hours of formal education to offer, plus the countless hours spent with the dedicated pet parents of Bold City K9 since our inception in early 2014. Previously, she worked in the veterinary field and is Canine First Aid Certified.

GAVIN BOOMER
Gavin is a veteran of the US Navy who recently returned to the US after 5 years of Active Duty Service. During his time serving as Military Law Enforcement, he had many opportunities to work with MWDs (Military Working Dogs), handlers, and kennel masters.
He first explored the world of protection sport dog training in 2013 while stationed in San Diego, CA and has learned under multiple nationally and internationally recognized dog trainers in various sports and working venues. Throughout his journey, he has completed multiple apprenticeships and regularly attends seminars to continually build his education in canine cognition, obedience and behavior reconditioning, and high quality working dog training.
Gavin was previously operational as a TSA 3PK9 Certified Explosives Detection Canine Handler and has been UPWDA certified with K9 Daro. During their time together, Gavin and Daro also worked NFL Games, concerts Coachella and Stagecoach and multiple events for Google.
BRITTNI WENGER
Brittni has worked with dogs of all ages, breeds, and temperaments for many years, and has been surrounded by dogs her entire life. From an early age, she felt a natural connection with animals and knew she was meant to build a career working alongside them.
Shortly after graduating high school, Brittni began exploring opportunities in the animal care field. She gained hands-on experience working in shelters, puppy stores, doggy daycares, and grooming facilities, all while fostering both dogs and cats. It was during this time that she was introduced to the world of dog training—and quickly became deeply passionate about it.
In 2023, Brittni joined a local training facility as a kennel technician and, through her dedication and work ethic, quickly advanced to a full-time trainer. In that role, she helped numerous owners transform their relationships with their dogs through clear communication and effective training methods. Driven to continue growing, she later trained under Bold City K9’s owner, Courtney, where she successfully completed an intensive apprenticeship program before joining the team.
Brittni is Canine CPR certified and is committed to ongoing education, regularly pursuing additional certifications and expanding her knowledge to provide the best possible care and training for every dog she works with.
ALYSSA YOUNG-COLÓN
Alyssa’s journey into dog training began when she entrusted her own dog to Bold City K9. Inspired by the transformation she witnessed, she discovered a deep passion for the craft and went on to complete an intensive apprenticeship under the company’s owner, Courtney. Since 2018, Alyssa has been working professionally as a dog trainer, helping clients build stronger, more effective relationships with their dogs.
She is dedicated to setting both dogs and their owners up for long-term success, combining clear communication, proven training methods, and a genuine love for what she does. Alyssa is continually advancing her education, staying up to date with evolving techniques and approaches to ensure she delivers the highest quality results.
Over the years, she has expanded her expertise across a variety of disciplines, with a particular passion for working with hunting dogs. In addition to training pet dogs, Alyssa actively trains and competes with her own dogs in advanced obedience and protection sports. Her commitment and skill have led to multiple titles earned across several competitive arenas, reflecting both her versatility and high standard of training.
